Take a look at Elegant Theme’s new WordPress theme update – Divi 2.4

WordPress as a content management system is used widely around the world and since WordPress is one of the most flexible CMS ever created, we can make any type of website we want to, using WordPress with the help of suitable themes as well as plugins.

Gone are the days when WordPress was only a CMS known to be the backbone of blogs. We see all kinds of sites being made on WordPress CMS and all this has been made possible because of the vast developer support that WordPress has gathered over these years. Many online businesses are running to provide services related to WordPress.

Elegant Themes – Introduction

The WordPress theme marketplaces like Elegant Themes provides some amazing themes that you can apply on your WordPress site to create the site that you want. Elegant Themes has been making some really beautiful themes since a long time which are loved by people around the world for their simplicity, features and ease of setting up.

One of their most sought after theme is Divi 2.0 as it provides more than what a normal WordPress theme does.

Divi Theme – An overview

To be precise, Divi 2.0 is actually a site builder disguised as a WordPress theme for WordPress self-hosted websites. Divi was created by Elegant Themes to use it as the backbone of all their themes as well as plugins. This would have brought some unification in all the themes built by Elegant Themes and fixing all themes with an update to Divi would have been very helpful.

Divi 2.4 – An amazing update to the already awesome theme!

Today Elegant Themes has launched Divi 2.4 with some great improvements and it is already teasing it on their blog to create some hype!

Let us take a look at some of the new additions that have been included in Divi 2.4.

Global Settings

People requested Elegant Themes to consolidate the most used globally effective settings like heights of some elements like navigation menu, logo height or some other settings. With the Divi 2.4 update, people now get a Global Settings panel where they can easily set options for settings like we mentioned above.

Fluid Width – Better responsiveness!

The whole grid system of Divi is being recorded in the 2.4 version and hence they removed all the fixed widths and replaced them with percentages. So when you choose to create child themes, you can also go ahead and have elegant responsiveness at the same time.

These changes will be universally applicable so you can choose to have them while you are making a new post as well.

New & Advanced Builder settings!

Divi 2.0 offers you to set a few things in different modules but Divi 2.4 offers you to set some advanced stuff like font size, color, padding, margin etc. via having Advanced Design Settings for each module. So, instead of doing it via custom CSS, you can just go ahead and use this setting to set these new settings.

Divi Library – Build sites faster than ever!

Divi 2.0 came with saved layouts functionality that allowed users to save the built layouts and use it later as they wished. With the 2.4 update, the feature has been extended so that you can store saved layouts or sections etc. You can edit and access any element from the library in the page builder itself. Other than that you can also import and export library elements so that you can later use them on other installs etc.

Apart from the additional features I would like to discuss about the Divi 2.4 Beta testing program in which Elegant Themes is inviting some Divi Power users to test the theme so that they can fix bugs if any, and give its users the best. That’s not all – Verdict

Divi 2.4 is a HUGE update to Divi and hence there are more things in the version that which has just arrived. We only listed a few of them here. Personally, I find Divi a great theme to use for any purpose you might have on a WordPress installation and with the page building capabilities; Divi is limited only by your imagination and requirements.
