Protecting our digital life is an important task. Most of us entrust our information to a password, but I know that you want to explore a high-security feature.
Especially, we always look for a strong authentication for our Gmail account to stay safe from hackers as it may contain our financial deals and data.
So, how to add an additional layer of security to our Gmail account? You can do it with the advanced security feature called 2-step verification that protects your Google account in a significant manner.
This feature is also called two-factor authentication that helps to verify that you’re the real owner of your Google account.
Step by Step Guide To Activate 2 Step Verification Process in Gmail
Enabling 2-step verification in Gmail is a simple process where you need to give your phone number (working). Just follow the step by step procedure to activate it.
Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account. Click “My Account” in the top right corner. You’ll be redirected to your profile page in a new tab. Sometimes, you may have to enter your Gmail account password for security reasons.
Step 2: Check for the option “Sign-in & Security” as shown in the below image and click it!
Step 3: Now, you’ll be directed to manage your account access and security settings. Just scroll down the page, you’ll be able to find the option “2-step Verification” under “Password and sign-in method”.
Step 4: Just hit that option and you’ll be getting the page like below and click “Start Setup”.
Step 5: After hitting “Start setup”, Google will ask your phone number to send the security code when you sign in from an untrusted computing device. Just you need to enter your phone number and click “Send Code” as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 6: You’ll receive a six-digit verification code on your phone. Enter that code and hit “Verify”.
Step 7: Now, you’ll be asked whether you’re using a trusted computer or not. If you’re on your home computer that is secure, you may tick the option “Trust this computer” and click “Next”.
Step 8: Finally, you’ll get the option to turn on your step 2 verification for your Gmail account. Click the “Confirm” button.
After successfully activating the two-step verification, you’ll get a confirmation mail from Google with some new suggestions to enhance your security. You may also set passwords for the applications that you’ve linked to your Google account.
You may turn off this “2-step verification feature” for Gmail at any time.
Final Words:
Gmail two-step authentication is an easy and prevalent way to boost the security and protect your emails from spammers and hackers.
After setting up the 2-step verification for Gmail, whenever you try to log in with your user id and password from a different computer, then the Google will send you a code to your phone’s (the phone number you submitted at the time of setting up the 2-step verification)inbox.
Just enter that code to get access to your Gmail. It is called 2-step verification as it firstly takes your password then sends a code to your phone and asks to enter that code.

>Halo Admin ^_^,
I finding your website by Google and I think this is really informative site and I can get the information that I'm looking for here, oh yeah hope you can check also the website about Teknologi Informasi (information technology), hope it will be usefull for you… .
Thank u
I’m glad that Google is beefing up the security, but I’m not using it myself.
Because I am registered as living in one country but I am living in another with a different phone number.
And Google checkout doesn’t like China as much as it likes the Netherlands so I can’t change my address.
It’s sad that this extra security is necessary though. But then again, it’s also sad that I have to close and lock the door of my house when I leave.
