How to Choose a Good Web Hosting Service for your Business?

Whether you have a small business or a larger enterprise, you would definitely want to improve your online presence and create a better brand image. The online presence through a website would help you improve credibility and enhance sales. If you are into a small business and looking to enhance the performance, choosing an affordable option should be one of the prominent choices.  Keeping your business website up and running 24×7 depends on your web hosting provider. The better Hosting Company you work with, the better performance you see on your website. Thus, it is very important to choose a good web hosting service for your business.

How to Choose a Good Hosting Service?

Understand what kind of web hosting service you need

Before you choose the right kind of web hosting, you should be clear with the exact needs of your business. If you are looking to build a website that receives a huge amount of traffic, you should never go with a Shared hosting because this is good for small blogs and websites. For handling high traffic and hosting a business website, it is always good to go for either VPS or Dedicated hosting. Dedicated web hosting like Cirrus Hosting should be a good choice here as they have been quite well lately. If you have some budget issue, but still you have to manage huge amount of traffic on your website, VPS could be a good option.

Moreover, there are tons of hosting providers in the market which you can check out. Some services may be new and offer you better pricing, but they may or may not be able to handle the growth and expansion of a business.  Make a perfect choice based on the capability and efficiency of the service provider.

Choose the correct package

Most of the businesses tend to opt for the lower packages just to save money, but it can come with a bigger risk. One major risk would be running out of resource. It means when you get cheap hosting you get limited resources, and when your site has high resource demands, the hosting server may not be able to handle it, and your site may go offline. Being offline may turn your potential clients away. You should choose your package wisely enough. If you are not yet ready for the dedicated hosting, it may be a good idea to check out VPS hosting.

Check out the bandwidth

Unlimited bandwidth is what you should look ahead to. No matter whether you are a small business or a larger one, opting for a bandwidth plan that is charged on a pay as you go may increase your costing. Ensure that you have carefully gone through the terms of usage before signing up for an account with any web hosting service. While a web hosting service may claim to offer you unlimited bandwidth, there may be subtle bandwidth restrictions. Read the fine print carefully or if in doubt, get in touch with the service provider.

Test the Customer service levels

Customer service is yet another feature you need to give a thought to before finalising your web hosting partner. In fact, no matter how expert your team may be, you are likely to run into outages and other issues where you may need the help of your hosting provider. In such circumstances, you would definitely look ahead to a customer care service that is faster enough in addressing your concerns. How quick is it to reach the customer care through email, phone or chat support? It may be a good idea to go through those essential elements first.

I would advise you to go with the one who has all means of support such as Email, Chat, and Phone.

The Security features

Your website tends to receive several customer queries. With thousands of customers logging in to your site, taking care of their privacy is also of utmost importance. Security breaches tend to happen. Your web hosting service should be capable of addressing the security aspects of the visitors in an effective manner. The SSL certification and security standards should be quite essential for enhanced performance of your site. In case your website provides options for any financial transactions, it would become all the more important to take care of the elements.

Read the reviews

Before you finalize the web hosting service for your needs, it may be quite important to check out the reviews shared by the users or the experts. In essence, performing research into what the service offers you and comparing it with similar other services would make it a great option. In fact, the third party reviews should provide you access into any of the consistent issues and persistent problems the existing users may be facing. Check how the company does pay attention to and resolves the issues reported. This will help you understand how the company responds to unhappy clients.

Though every web hosting company has some kind of control panel, look for the one which offers cPanel because it is one of the best control panels out there. Most of the good web hosting companies offer cPanel to its users. Doing things with cPanel is quite easy because things have been made easier for users. Moreover, the Plesk control panel is also good. So, always look if you are being offered a good control panel software.

The Concluding Thoughts

The web hosting service you choose is actually the backbone of your site. That is exactly what makes it extremely important to choose the right option to make your site stand ahead of the competition. It is essential to know more about the company of your choice so that it will be easier for you to ensure that you are getting the most for your business. As long as the web hosting firm of your choice is capable of providing you access to the best service, you should be able to service your customers to a better extent.

  • Hi Atish,
Good to see Thimmappa on your website with a piece of wonderful and valuable information.
How nice it would have been if I got this information a few years back. I am sure this is really great information for the people who are yet to start a blog of your own. Yes, choosing a web hosting service is an important thing. In my initial stage I went for some hosters who really cheated us with their lovely offers and we suddenly migrated to a better platform, in fact, that was really a great dilemma I faced, later with the help of Atish I fixed it and now running my page with a reliable hoster, yes, it is very, important to know better about our hosters before we join them.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful reminder/guide to the readers of TechTricksWorld.
    Thanks, Atish for your service.
    Keep writing, Keep sharing,
    Best Regards

  • This guide was actually very helpful, but you always have to try yourself, i was firt on GCP but it was really expensive, i choose hostinger this time though, they seem to be really good but i really miss those 1 sec load times on my website. Now i do know that i’ve to check the bandwidth as well. I’ll probably go to digitalocean this year. Do you thinks it’s a good option or would you recommend something else? Thanks timmappa for the guide.
