How to Check Aadhar Card Status Online?

Indian laws are quite strict as we have seen in the last 10 months since the Demonetization move made by the government. Demonetization changed literally everything in the country. Suddenly, the biggest two currency notes became obsolete and even higher denomination was introduced. The identification cards which were not being used to that extent came into play in this year and so much into use that it is one of the mandatory documents needed to open a bank account. Earlier, a bank would open your account if you had address proof and voter ID but now, old account holders and new ones also have to get their PAN Card along with Aadhar card registered and linked to their bank account.

What is Aadhar Card?

Aadhar Card is a document issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (uidai.gov.in) which helps in identifying everyone using its 12-digit code. Aadhar Card also helps in identifying and registering each individual’s identity using the biometric details as well or in simple words it also takes advantage of the fingerprint. Aadhar Card improves the security of individual’s data as it is the latest and highly secured way of identification. It also helps in various other services like getting a new phone number or broadband connection and much more.

Filing for Aadhar Card is no-brainer as it is a very easy step and can be done online as well. To file for a new Aadhar Card, you can visit uidai.gov.in.

If you have lost your Aadhar Card, then you don’t have to worry as you can download a copy of Aadhar Card from uidai.gov.in easily.

How to check Aadhar Card Status Online?

The days are gone when we needed to stand in long queues with a bunch of paperwork in order to get a new copy of our important ID proofs like Voter ID Card or Aadhar Card. This is 2017 and Indian Government has also gone digital regarding the same. Getting an Aadhar Card is as easy as shopping online.

If you have lost your Aadhar Card or have recently applied for one, then you don’t have to worry as you can easily perform Aadhar Card status inquiry right from your mobile or PC.

2 ways are there which you can use to perform Aadhar Card status check

1. E-Aadhar Card Status

E-Aadhar Card Status is the place where you can check your Aadhar Card status by name. This is also the place where people who have re-filed for Aadhar Card or lost the Aadhar Card or the ones to whom the Aadhar Card has already been generated can perform Aadhar Card status check. Using this trick you can also download your e-Aadhar Card in case you have lost or misplaced your original Aadhar Card. All you need to do is bookmark eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and get Aadhar status anytime and anywhere you want.

To check your e-Aadhar Card status or Aadhar Card status by name, follow the listed steps.

  • Visit uidai.gov.in
  • Using Enrollment Number

If you have the Enrollment number of your Aadhar Card, then you can continue by adding in your enrollment number. Enrollment number is the number which is provided when the application for Aadhar Card is filed. So even if you don’t have the Aadhar Card or doesn’t have its number, you need not have to worry as you can still do it by filling in your enrollment number.

  • Using Aadhar Card Number

To check the Aadhar Card status by name you can also use Aadhar Card number to download your Aadhar Card. All you need to do is select the ‘Aadhar’ option on the top and enter the 12 digits unique Aadhar Number in the first column.

  • Add details

After adding enrollment number or Aadhar Card number, the next thing to do is to add details like full name, Pin Code and mobile number. Mobile number should be entered which is registered and linked to your Aadhar Card.

  • One Time Password

After your registered mobile number is added, you will receive a text message on your mobile which will contain a one-time password. Fill it in the last section and click on Validate and Download to download your e-Aadhar Card

2. Aadhar Status

Aadhar Status can also be checked at uidai.gov.in, but this only allows individuals to check Aadhar Card status if it has been generated or not. Aadhar status is a very important function as it allows anyone to check Aadhar Card update status and also helps them in knowing if their Aadhar Card has been generated or not. If it has been generated, the owner of that Aadhar card will be able to see his Aadhar card number by performing the Aadhar Card status check.

Aadhar Status can be easily checked anytime and anywhere and also from any device with active internet connection. For this, you will need to remember or bookmark uidai.gov.in in order to make life even easier.

To check Aadhar Status, visit uidai.gov.in and follow the following steps;

  • Aadhar Status

To place Aadhar card status inquiry, all you need to do is visit the link and then click on the ‘Check Aadhar Status’ button.

  • Check Aadhar Card Update Status

To check Aadhar Card update status, you will then have to fill the Enrollment number that was being given to you at the time of registration of your Aadhar Card. All you need to do is fill the number and the exact day, date and time as well as the security code. After filling all these details, you can easily track your Aadhar Status by clicking on ‘Check Status’ button.

    Adhar card which is most powerful document for every stage of people cause each and every person link every where . for the using of bank , pancard, return submission , every where is very important to us ,

    and updation is very long and harassment program they are not liable to updation any adhar card, one single phone no updation they took 2 months. so how to justify adhar updatiion is very easy to us ? Government should have to take action in this process .

      You can go to the UIDAI website and choose update option. You can submit the updation details, and they will update your mobile number soon.

      Hello Neena,

      Aadhar card number is issued once. Try finding the enrollment number you were provided when you applied for Aadhar card. If you could find that, you can easily get your Aadhar card from its official website.

      Moreover, I would suggest you call Aadhar customer care, and tell them your details, may be they would help you get your Aadhar number.
