Cell Phone Specials: Can You Hear Me Now?

More and more cell phone companies are stopping at nothing to get you to be one of their customers; this is especially true when it comes to offering numerous different cell phone specials. Each company wants to give you something they believe is better and beats out all the other competitors. However, not all cell phone specials are that special.

Cell Phones: A Brief History

It has been 40 years since the first mobile phone was introduced to the world in 1973. Now 40 years later, not only are the smaller (now weight a whopping 3.95 ounces) and cheaper most of them (literally thousands of dollars cheaper), i.e. smartphones, are making multi-tasking at your job look like child’s play; and their life expectancy has grown too.

Cell Phones have allowed for the quality of life to become better as well; with some cell phones, people are able to share face to face time, allowing family and friends to have the experience of seeing those they love and miss across the miles in between them.

Cell Phone Specials

Everywhere you look there is a sale or deal that cannot be passed by being offered by the most popular cell phone companies known today; this is especially true for companies like:

  • T-Mobile

  • Verizon and

  • Sprint

Currently, each of these companies is offering:

  • Large Mail in Rebate Offers (Making the phone itself practically free)

  • Buy 2 Phones for the price of 1

  • Free Internet Access

  • Unlimited Talk and Texting

  • Free Calls to Family and Friends in your Network

There are quite a few; many of which these companies use to entice you to choose them verses their competitors. Such specials are offered every couple of months, making them look very attractive; especially if you have had some issues with your current phone services.

Cell Phones Specials: Do I have to go to that company’s store?

You can if you prefer but it is not required. More and more there are dealers for each cell phone company that you can purchase and set up your cell phone services at. These dealers include:

  • Best Buy

  • Wal-Mart

  • Target

  • Radio Shack

  • Mall with Mall Kiosks

The reason this is done is so that the actual stores are able to address much more needs than just choosing a phone and cell phone service plan. This allows employees to help service IT problems, billing concerns, and other situations that arise at any given time. With cell phone dealers, they can help you with these issues but they are limited in what they can do.

Cell Phones have been around for 40 years and it is not very likely that they will be going away any time soon; if anything they will be getting better in their ability to help make daily tasks easier and functions they offer simpler as well as their services they provide. In the way of invent and technology, cell phones have helped the world to grow in ways many only could image in the years passed.

  • Hello Atish,

I have been searching for cell phone history and bounced up your blog. Although its been hard to tell that in this tech savvy world that cell phones are going to vanish or not as technology is making things better and better. There are always an alternative for everything but the use of mobile phones and their cheapest services are just going to be more cheap thats it.

Apart from this your blog in informative indeed.

  • Now a days cell phone calling plans are so cheaper which is also a big factor in increasing of the use of mobile phones. People talk more now because of cheap plans and some companies also provides new cell phones with their best affordable plans.

  • With the changing technology trends how can users forget to upgrade themselves with the technology. And when it comes to mobile phone the race is big & fast as the new mobile models from both less & high popular brands are capturing users attention undoubtedly. The trend is now to buy or I must say change to new smartphone (and phablet) every 3 to 6 months.
