Benefits of Expert Roundup Posts

Blogging has so many things that overwhelm us time to time. As most of my Facebook friends are from the blogging field, I keep on getting updates via Facebook newsfeed in the form of blog post links, income reports, affiliate sales screenshots, real-time visitor screenshots of event sites, and many more things. Most of the reports of such kind have nothing to do with the reality; they are just posted to get more followers and more business [But, I don’t deny the fact that many reports are genuine too]. That is why, I am not that interested in checking out such reports, but I do check out good blog posts that are shared.

So, you can see that time to time we encounter with many things. One of the hottest things I have been noticing in my news feed recently is the expert roundup posts. Many of my blogger friends are diving into doing such roundup posts. The reason for doing this is the immense benefits it offers to bloggers and their readers.

Don’t be surprised if I say that I haven’t done any roundups yet.  Lazy Me!

But, I am happy that most of the bloggers are doing this to curate the best content for readers that helps people learn so many things. It gives us better insights of many things.

Personally speaking, I love to read roundup articles and taking part in such roundups is an awesome feeling. I am fortunate enough to be considered by many good bloggers for their roundups. You may check the roundup list here in which I have taken part.

Minuca Elena from www.minucaelena.com, Gurunath from www.bestofguru.net, and Philip from www.pvariel.com are a few of my good friends who are doing so many roundups and getting immense benefits from doing so.

Specifically, Minuca has been doing many roundups for many small and big blogs in the industry. I really appreciate her efforts, and that is the reason I call her the Queen of Roundups. Before writing this post, I have taken her opinion about such roundup posts as well because I am not the expert of this. She did offer her help by showing me some examples that answered my queries.

If you want to do an expert round up, you should check out the guide to expert roundup by Fabrizio to learn how to create awesome roundup posts.

Other things apart, let’s get into the main part of the blog post in which I am going to write down the benefits of Expert Roundup post that a blogger gets when he does it. I mean such roundups not only benefit the readers but also to the creators and that you are going to read next in this article.

benefits of expert roundup

Benefits of Expert Roundup

1. Learn from Experts

When you think of a topic for doing a roundup on your blog, you contact the experts of that particular topic and ask them to participate. Participating means they have to share their response/opinion for that question/topic. So, when you get responses from all the experts participating, being a blogger you actually learn something valuable by reading their responses.

So, first you learn, and then you publish, and your readers learn. You and your readers learn excellent stuff for FREE. Isn’t it great?

In short, from the experts’ responses not only the readers learn but you also learn something new and valuable. Many times, the responses may change the way you look at certain things. It is a win-win for bloggers. Thus, doing expert roundups is indeed a cool idea.

2. More Promotion More traffic

When you do an expert roundup in which 50 experts are participating, then you have those 50 experts who will be sharing that particular roundup post on their social media profiles. And, as they are expert in their niche they must be having a good fan following. So, when they promote your post, you get a lot of social shares and hence, more traffic.

3. More incoming links

Many of us have a page on our personal blog on which we share the links of the posts where we are featured. This way, when you do a roundup, you get incoming links from the roundup contributors.

I am one such person who has a page on his blog where you can find all the links of roundups, Interviews, and Lists where I have been featured. Whenever I am featured in a roundup post, I add the link of the post on my page.

So, you can see that you get more incoming links from the contributors. And, even roundup posts get a lot of links naturally as well when various bloggers mention those roundups in their blog posts.

4. More Engagement

When you do an expert roundup, you will notice that you get more blog comments because not only your readers will comment but the contributors and their followers do visit your blog to read and comment as well. So, with a huge flow of traffic, you get a huge number of comments as well.

5. Networking with Influencers

For your roundup post, when you reach out to 100s of influencers, you get at least 50-60 replies. But, that is still worth of your time because not only you ask them to take part in the roundup but you also network with them. And, I don’t think I have to tell you the benefits of networking with the influencers.

6. Great content created by Experts for your blog

The best thing about expert roundup posts is that you just have to think of a good topic, and experts do the rest content writing work for you by writing their responses. However, you have to put a lot of efforts to contact, and get responses from everyone to club them all together to finalize the post. But, this is all worth because you get excellent content from industry experts without paying any fee.

Final Words

Expert Roundup posts are excellent because they are rich in information and knowledge, and that’s what your readers want. So, when you do this, you get a good amount of traffic and engagement on your blog.

Though I have not done any roundups yet, I am becoming a big fan of it as I love to check out different opinions of experts on a single topic.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the post. Share your views and feedback in comments.

You said many things about Roundups and its benefits.
    Well done.
I fully agree with you. These days many are trying their hands on this.
Yes, from my experience I can very well say that it fetches a lot of traffics and engagement, but, sad I disagree with the concept of getting more comments, in my experiences once you publish the post,
many will not even take the pain to post a feedback. This may be the reason why most of the experts are very busy with their routine job.
Thanks Atish for the kind mention of philipscom
    Have a great week ahead.

      Hello Philip,

I agree that in many cases people don’t get comment on their round up posts but it happens when you include extremely busy people. But, still its worth trying out as I have seen roundups are doing great.

  • Hi Atish,
I have to agree with the points above and that is exactly what a roundup post can do. I have done. a few of them and in my friends circle I was the first to do a massive posy with 78 bloggers on completely off topic on New year event and that was the major turning point of my blog career. I still remember you helping me in that formating part 🙂 but my Navratri interview series with eight women bloggers is still the best creative part in my blog and a big hit those days. This posts really build relations between the bloggers and boost interactions too. I saw recently few bloggers do roundups just for name sake 🙁 thanks for mentioning my name in the post and I am really honored 🙂 have a great day !!

  • I’m a full-time freelance writer as my “day job” and I’ve done a few of these for my content marketing clients. It was SO easy, once they introduced me to HelpaReporter.com. I just asked for quotes and people sent them in and I had all kinds of experts I could pull together into one article. Bonus? When the piece goes live, everyone featured will usually tweet it, bringing more readers to it!

      Hello Stephanie,

That is the real benefit of doing roundups. You get content written from the experts, and once the post goes live, that is shared by those experts. And, all these for free. However, it takes a good amount of time to do the roundup posts.

      Thanks for coming by.

  • Hi Atish,

Today I am here from the Facebook link . You highlighted all the important points regarding a round-up post. I am yet to post one in my own blog. For me, I am more interested in featuring in a round-up post rather than writing, editing and publishing one that require a good amount of time from our working hours. I think you should have added the benefits of being included in a round-up post as a part of your post.

Also, glad to see that you mentioned names like Philip, Gurunath and Minuca Elana in the article. Keep up the good work. Hoping to read more posts from your blog soon.

    Have a great time blogging.

    Best regards

    Keep sharing.

You are right, and doing it has a great benefit. About writing the benefits of being included in an expert roundup, I have not written the article with that thought. I may be writing a separate post for it later some time.

These guys are doing really well with the roundups, so they deserved the mention.

      Thanks for coming by bro.
