This week earlier, Facebook introduced the Timeline Feature in mobile and browser version. Timeline is a new look to the Facebook profile. With this new feature, you can turn your entire profile into an entire history of all the years that you have spent on Facebook. Timeline is very handy to browse through your past history.
What’s New In Timeline
Currently, the any user’s profile of Facebook shows the lasted posts on the wall. If we want to view the older posts, we have to scroll down & then click on Older Posts to view the older updates. On the other hand, with the Timeline, we can easily browse through all our updates. An index bar is placed on the right hand side of the wall, through which we can easily navigate into the earlier years.
This is a smashing feature of Timeline. You can choose an unique image which will be set on the top of your wall. This image will stretch across the entire page’s width. Your profile picture will be shown on the left hand side bottom corner of this cover picture.
See Everything In One Place
Just below the cover picture, on the right side, you can view all the Info of the user. And on the left side, you will find users Friend list, Subscribers, Likes, Photos, Notes etc… Thus you can find everything in one centralized place.
Here you will find all the records till date from the day you have joined Facebook. When you will click on Activity Log, a new frame will open. There on every post, you will find 2 menus. The 1st is for changing the privacy settings. And the 2nd is for keeping it on Timeline. From the activity log, user will be able to feature, hide & delete their posts.
Highlight What’s Important
In the new profile, the posts are divided into 2 columns. Thus the size of the post with respect to the older profile has reduced. But if you want to widen it and show it as an important update of yours, then just click on the star icon on that update.
Facebook has given a 7 days review period for its users. So now if you Activate Timeline, then your profile will automatically get converted into the newer version in 7 days. Once converted to Timeline, then there is no way back to go to your old profile view.
Is this an intelligent move by Facebook to keep it up in the market of social media? Did you all like TIMELINE? Do post your views on Timeline via comments.
