Top Android Apps To Turn Your Tablet Into An Optimization Station

If you’re a search optimizer or a webmaster, then of course your main goal is to get your site to the top of the SERPs by optimizing the way that page is written and promoted around the web. However, this ‘optimization’ shouldn’t stop there – if you really want to see results then you should also look at optimizing your own work process and productivity so that you can get more done more quickly.

One of the best ways to do this is with the right software which can automate various aspects of the process for you so that you can get on with other things. Seeing as apps are so convenient and intuitive to use thanks to their always-on nature and touch interface, let’s take a look at a run-down of the very best Android apps out there for those who work online. Install each of the following suggestions on your device and you’ll end up with a tablet that’s ‘optimized for optimization’.

Google Analytics

The secret to success in any business is to carefully monitor the statistics and to look at the impact any changes or iterations you make have on your success. Without looking at your feedback, you can’t know whether the changes you’ve made have been successful, and you won’t be able to spot when there’s a problem. Of course in a dynamic and data-friendly business like SEO this is especially true, and there’s no better tool for checking those web stats than Google Analytics. With the app on your Android tablet you can make it super convenient to get a quick update on how your sites or apps are performing. The dashboards are highly customisable, the stats are available in real time, and basically it’s everything you could want from an app like this.

AdSense Dashboard

Currently there doesn’t seem to be an official AdSense app from Google in the same vein as the analytics app, but thankfully AdSense Dashboard from Gregory Block mostly manages to make up for this. With a useful widget and a very simple and clear layout, this makes checking your AdSense just as easy as checking the time on your phone and tablet (prepare to become completely addicted). The only downside is that the app leaves out a fair amount of information – such as your current balance/recent payments so you will still need to occasionally use your browser too.

WordPress

I think I’m in love with the WordPress app. Owning a few WordPress blogs myself, I absolutely love the ability to quickly upload new posts from anywhere in minutes – particularly because it’s now so easy to attach photos you take with your phone or tablet as well. And actually the app is far more feature rich than you’d have any right to expect so you can even tweak some of your blog’s settings should you want to or access the dashboard at the touch of a button to do so.

Kingsoft Office

There are a number of ‘office’ apps on Android, but all of them lack certain features (whether it’s a word count or a spell check) and most of them cost over $10. Not Kingsoft though – an alternative that’s not only completely free but also highly feature rich. It even looks more like Word and Excel.

Adobe Photoshop Touch

If you run a site, then from time to time you’re going to need to edit some images to use alongside your articles or in your layout. For a while now I’ve been hoping for an app that would allow me to do this on my tablet (especially as my Note has that lovely stylus), but it’s only recently that this app was released and stepped up to the mark. It’s pricey yes, but if you want all the features you’d expect from photo editing software on the PC, then this is really the only option currently.

Multiscreen Multitasking THD

Something that’s always bugged me about using tablets is that every app takes up the whole screen meaning you can’t write down what you’re reading from the web for instance, or view two web pages side by side. Multiscreen Multitasking provides the solution to this problem, by letting you run a selection of apps simultaneously in windows. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean the apps you have installed though – just the ones that come built in.

SEO SERP Tracker

SEO SERP Tracker is a useful free tool to quickly and simply check your current position in the SERPs for particular keywords. Unfortunately a recent update that introduced ‘faster’ results seems to have damaged the accuracy of those results. There have been a few complaints on the Play Store already, so hopefully the developers will see fit to rectify this soon.

Web Rank SEO

Web Rank SEO is another great app for checking statistics and seeing what the competition is up to. This time you’ll get your page rank, a run down of all the pages indexed across each of the major search engines, a list of all your backlinks, and even the number of tweets and plusses your site has received.
With these apps it really is highly convenient to get a comprehensive analysis of your site’s performance – and with that knowledge you’ll be able to ensure that all these figures are heading the right way. When it’s this easy, there really is no excuse for not being on top of it.
