One of the many advantages of using Google Chrome as your main browser is that it enables you to conveniently integrate all of the other Google-related services that you use on a regular basis. Chrome offers its users a variety of free extensions that will help users further integrate all of their Google services and have everything they need at their fingertips.

Here are ten excellent Google Chrome extensions that will give you immediate and easy access to all the Google services that you use every day and enable you to maximize your productivity at work and at home by integrating all of your Google functions into the browser for the ultimate experience and optimized ease of use.

Google Mail Checker

This extension provides you with an icon at the top of the browser that displays the number of unread messages that you have currently in your Google Mail inbox. You can instantly open your inbox by simply clicking on the button as soon as you see that a new email has arrived.

Google Dictionary

Check out the definitions of words easily as you browse the web with this extension. Just double-click any word and a bubble will pop up with the definition.

Google Translate

Yet another extension that will add an easy-to-access button to your browser toolbar. The extension will automatically detect if the language of the page that you are on is different from the language that you are using for your Chrome interface. If a different language is detected, a banner will pop up on the top of the page, after which you need to only click on the Translate button in order to have Google translate the page’s contents into the language that you are using regularly.

Popular Google chrome extensions

Personal Block List

Personalize your searches to get rid of domains and hosts that you do not want to see in your Google search by using this tool. Block any patterns that you do not want to appear in your search with one click and avoid having to wade through unwanted search results ever again.

Chrome to Phone

If you are an Android smart phone user, which many tech-savvy people are, this extension enables you to send links and various other information straight from your browser to your mobile phone. With the click of one button, you can send maps, links, currently selected text, phone numbers and other information directly to your phone. You will have to download the Android app to your phone as well to use it, which is also completely free.

Google Tasks

If you are using Tasks to keep up with your busy schedule, this extension makes it that much easier to never skip a beat. To add tasks to your to-do list just click on the Tasks icon and add a new task or highlight text on any webpage, right-click and add the task. Click the task button to mark off tasks you have completed just as easily.

Google Calendar Checker

This extension is a simple tool that will give you access to your Google Calendar with one click on an icon situation on your Chrome toolbar. The icon also shows you how long you have until the next event that is scheduled on your calendar, making sure you never miss a meeting again.

Search by Image

Here is another great extension that will make using Google Images even easier than before. Just right-click on the image you are interested in searching and select “Search Google with this image.” Even better, you can add a clickable Search by Image icon that will appear just by pointing your cursor on an image.

Google Publisher Toolbar

If you are running a blog or site and are obsessed with your AdSense statistics, this tool allows you to view your AdSense account without having to leave the website you are currently browsing. Access real-time information regarding your earnings and look at statistics from your top 5 custom channels and URL channels with one click.

Google Voice

This extension adds a button on your Chrome toolbar which displays the number of unread messages you have in your Google Voice inbox and it enables you to easily make calls and send text messages to your contacts via your browser with just one click. It is currently available only for users in the US, however.

These are only some of the extensions that Chrome offers to its users who want to customize and personalize their Internet experiences, especially if a majority of the user’s online activities are centered around Google services, which is the case with a great number of Internet users these days.

What I like most about Chrome is that it’s really convenient to use it when working with Google. I have been using Firefox for a long time. But now that more and more ood and useful plugons and addon are developed for Chrome, I’m considering a move from FF to Chrome.

The translator and the dictionary would be really useful for me, I wish they were available for Safari as well… I think now it’s time to switch my browser, because I could save some time (and money) with these plugin (I’ve used an other software for these functions until now)

Hi Thanks for the post, I do like a good extension or two!

Im relatively new to Chrome and have never looked back since starting to use it. I used to be a die hard firefox fan until they released 4 and ruined everything! 3.6 or whatever it was was a faultless browser and since 4 its all gone wrong. I will definitely check out some of these extensions, thanks for the list

Personally, I use Firefox more often than not, only using Chrome when a new update hits to see what is added. However, I will say that anyone who uses Chrome must have mail checker and voice. I have these two extensions installed and the are invaluable to my productivity.
